SSMS is an NGO non-profit organization working in the area of Skill
Development, Life Skill Development and Income Generation for Integrated
approach to facilitate the villagers by providing them awareness and know-how
for livelihood. Project with CAPART (NE ZONE) on Mushroom cultivation
Vermi-compost and Bamboo-craft is on going. SSMS is committed to fast-tracking
the Social research, project development and communications appropriate and
effective response through developing coherent strategic models for intervention
and services. The priority areas of SSMS interventions are Skill Development
(Through our “Grameen Swarojgar” programme enlisted 100 skills), Life Skill
Development and Income Generation (Specially Mushroom based), Rain Water
Harvesting (We are the pioneer to construct 6 in Bihar), Sanitation Awareness
and innovations (SSMS started the pilot project with UNICEF), Practical
sanitation models for rural areas, Rural Young Professional Scheme
(skill and life skills training for rural youth’ beneficiaries more then10000),
Primary food and vegetable processing for addressing malnutrition and income
generation among the rural poor, Computer Skills (Specialized for Deaf-Dumb),
Innovative rural technology (Collaboration with CSIR), which addresses concern
of rural poor, Village Knowledge Centers, Creation and maintenance of database
of NGOs in the State/ Distt/ Block with network NAG (NGOs Activity Group) and
FNS (Federation of NGOs for Self Employment). We work closely with the People
with a view to prioritizing the involvement of PWAs in community-based responses.
We also conduct a range of research projects and communication interventions with
health services and co-ordinates health services to the door steps by involving grass
roots NGOs, organizes self-help groups for the rural women as part of their holistic
empowerment, initiates program toward conservation of natural resources and organizes
activities for conservation, dissemination and research covering herbal plants with
medicinal values. We have enriched Tissue culture Laboratory, Library, and Network of
Community development cum Training Centers.
